The Z-Cell (Zero Cell) 400 kHz Aquadopp allows current measurement to start right at the instrument’s level through an innovative approach: it has side-looking beams fully integrated into the instrument’s head, effectively removing the blanking distance normally applicable to ADCPs.

Setup
The 400 kHz Aquadopp Z-Cell, designed for current measurements up to a 90m range, is set up using the Nortek deployment software, enabling users to customize measurement schemes and assess power requirements. The Z-Cell functionality allows measurements at the level of the instrument head, eliminating the “blanking distance” at which most ADCPs cannot measure.
Deployment
Teams of all sizes can deploy an Aquadopp Z-Cell successfully thanks to its compact size. The instrument is optimal for deployments near boundaries such as the seabed or sea surface.
Data
Nortek postprocessing software and/or display software is available for review, visualization and processing of data, after deployment or in real time. The instrument can provide data from the level of the instrument as well as a full water column profile.
