DVL 333

6000 m, Generation 3

Bottom-track from 0.1 to 375 m range; 6000 m operational depth

  • Bottom track from 0.1-375 m range
  • Per-ping and per-beam data quality estimates
  • No change in form factor compared to higher-frequency options

Overview

The DVL 333 is a long-range Doppler Velocity Log that benefits from increased range with no compromise in performance or form factor. It allows vehicles to maintain bottom lock in a greater range of environments, increasing mission duration on long-range subsea vehicles. This 333 kHz DVL is used by innovators in the uncrewed vehicle sector looking to expand vehicle capabilities into new environments.

Highlights

  • Bottom track from 0.1-375 m range
  • Per-ping and per-beam data quality estimates
  • No change in form factor compared to higher-frequency options

Usage

  • Large UUVs/ AUVs operating at high altitudes in deep water
  • Deep-water large ROVs with high accuracy and long range requirements
  • Increase range of vehicles with existing DVL500 without vehicle redesign

Integration

With the longest range of the Nortek DVL family, this 6000m rated survey-grade DVL is equipped for easy integration with leading INS systems to create a robust, reliable navigation system with maximized range. As with all of Nortek's DVLs, the DVL 333 is compatible with top control software including EIVA, Seebyte and Greensea.

Reliability

Tested in demanding conditions in the Oslo fjord, the DVL 333 has a proven track record in areas of variable bathymetry and conditions. The water track feature provides a velocity backup if the bottom becomes out of range. The spectrum analyzer assures thorough system level integration.

Results

The DVL 333 provides reliable navigation in the most demanding conditions across multiple platforms. The addition of simultaneous current profiles improves operational safety and allows opportunistic oceanographic data collection.
